On this episode of the Replacement Level Podcast Baseball America’s Ben Badler joined me to discuss the possibility of an international draft and what that would mean for Major League Baseball. Ben discussed the primary motivation of MLB for pushing for an international draft (money), and detailed the disadvantages it could present to teenage prospects in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Ben and I also talked about the WBC and he offered some suggestions on how to improve the tournament.
Ben also provided a scouting report for many of the top prospects in baseball including: Jurickson Profar, Wil Myers, Dylan Bundy, and Xander Bogaerts. He discussed what prospects are likely to make an impact in 2013, and which top prospect is most likely to bust.
I hope you listen to and enjoy the interview. It can also be downloaded for free on iTunes.
